Lillian May Grace Lake, better known as "May" to her family and friends, was born August 5, 1921, on a farm in Spink County near Doland, South Dakota, to Huron and Mae Millie (Donner) Lake. She grew up and received her education in the Doland area.
As a young lady she moved to Illinois where she lived until moving to Lead, South Dakota. In 1969 she moved to Quinn, South Dakota, where she resided until 1980 when she moved into the Prairie Village Apartments in Wall. She resided there until the time of her death.
May was baptized in the Methodist Faith.
Survivors include her two daughters, Linda (Mrs. Sean) Riley of Oral, South Dakota, and Ruth (Mrs. Larry) Hirchert of Leadville, Colorado; three sons, Darwin Miller of Montevideo, Minnesota, Dayyell Miller of Washington, and Gary Prahl; 14 grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaugther; two sisters, Bessie Barnett of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Doris Kruthoff of Clark, South Dakota; one brother, Calvin Keith Lake from the state of Washington; and a host of other relatives and friends.
May was preceded in death by one son, Doyle Miller; one grandson, Jason Hirchert; two grandsons in infancy; her parents; one brother, Grant Lake; and one sister, Lucille Lake.
