Ruth L. Feyereisen was born November 11, 1917, in Gregory county to Matthew and Ethel (McCollum) Feyereisen. She grew up and attended elementary school in Gregory county.
In 1933 she moved with her parents to the Iona area where she graduated from Iona High School.
She lived and worked in the Chamberlain area until moving to Belvidere in 1949. She was united in marriage to James Barr on May 25, 1951, at Gregory, South Dakota. They owned and operated a farm-ranch northeast of Belvidere, South Dakota.
Survivors include her husband, James, of Rural Belvidere; three daughters, Mrs. Donald (Bonnie) Reed of Alliance, Nebraska, Mrs. Dean (Rita) Blom of White River, South Dakota, and Mrs. Curtis (Carol) Palander of Murdo, South Dakota; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Vance Feyereisen of Gregory, South Dakota, and Sam Feyereisen of California; and two sisters, Mrs. Bud (Doris) Eagleson of Kingman, Arizona, and Marie O'Neal of Gregory, South Dakota.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Shannon Blom, a brother, Floyd Feyereisen, and a sister, Dorhta Suits.
