Ernest A. Pipal

of Wall, South Dakota, died on Thursday, September 4, 1986
in Wall at the age of 76

Ernest Albert Pipal, son of Frank John and Marie Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Bell) Pipal, was born January 10, 1910, on his parents' ranch located on Quinn Table, northeast of Scenic, South Dakota.

He grew up and receiveed his elementary education in the Quinn Table area and graduated from Scenic High School in 1927.

He ranched with his parents near the Quinn Table area.

Ernest was united in marriage to Marcella Shull on December 6, 1933, at Rapid City, South Dakota.

They farmed and ranched on the Quinn Table area all their married life until retiring and moving into Wall on December 13, 1980.

Ernest was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Crescent Masonic Lodge #210, A.F. & A.M., both of Wall.  He was active in community affairs and had served on the local school board and also on the Township board for several years.

He was an avid rock hound and enjoyed the great outdoors.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Marcella of Wall; one son, Ernest "Butch" Pipal of Wall; two daughters, Mrs. Glenn (Betty) Alishouse, and Mrs. Don (Gloria) Kelly, both of Wall; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Kristy Kelly, and his parents.
