Curtis Jedlickaof Wall, South Dakota, died on Thursday, May 22, 1986
|
Curtis L. Jedlicka was born May 25, 1963, at Pierre, South Dakota to Dick and Donna (Hempel) Jedlicka and lived at Vivian for two years before moving to the Philip and Wall communities.
He attended school at Philip for two years and Big Foot School 10 miles northwest of Interior for five years. In 1981 he graduated from Wall High School, where he was active in sports, Future Farmers of America, and communtiy affairs.
In 1983 he graduted with honors from Wyoming Technical Institute in Laramie, Wyoming, earning the 1983 class leadership award.
While active in FFA he received awards for excellence in leadership and agricultural mechanics, and has continued to support the Wall FFA Chapter. He was recently cited for his efforts to help young adults in farming, leadership, citizenship, and community welfare.
Curtis was active in Wall Lions Club, Pennington County Farm Bureau, Family Wagon Train, local sportsman's clubs, and the National Rifle Association. He attended the United Methodist Church in Wall.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and skiing. He was an excellent mechanic and had a great appreciation for restoring vintage automobiles.
Grateful for having shared his life are his parents, Dick and Donna Jedlicka of Wall; two brothers, Michael Jedlicka of Denver, Colorado, and David Jedlicka of Wall; one niece, Hiedi Jedlicka of Denver, Colorado; his maternal grandmother, Rose Hempel of Lake Andes, South Dakota; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Bertha Jedlicka and Al Hempel.
