Wilbur Arthur Olson, son of Carl and Alice (Smith) Olson, was born February 25, 1923, on a farm near Bijou Hills, South Dakota.
He grew up in the Pukwana and Chamberlain area before graduating from Pukwana High School in 1941. He farmed and ranched near Chamberlain until moving to Midland in 1951. He farmed and ranched there until moving to a farm-ranch operation south of Kadoka in 1961.
Wilbur was a member and also served as a director for the Kadoka Buffalo Stampede.
Grateful for having shared his life are his two sons, Steven W. and David Olson, both of Kadoka; one daughter, Mrs. Clifford (Sherry) Lafferty of Parmelee, South Dakota; one grandson, Brian Lafferty of Parmelee; three brothers, Duane and Robert Olson, both of Midland, South Dakota, and Gene Olson of Chamberlain, South Dakota; one sister, Mrs. Robert (Shirley) Schmidt of Apple Valley, Minnesota; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Darlene Dozark.
