Duane Grable

of Phoenix, Arizona, died on Sunday, January 29, 1984
at the Heart Science Center Hospital in Tucson, Arizona at the age of 47

Duane Grable was born January 6, 1937, at Pine Ridge, South Dakota, to Vera and Allen Grable.  He went to school in Rapid City, South Dakota, and served in the Navy four years.

Duane was united in marriage to Betty Hatcher on March 1, 1981, at Las Vegas, Nevada.  He was a supervisor in the maintenance department at the Chrysler plant in Detroit, Michigan.  He retired in 1979 becuase of poor health.

Duane received a human heart in a transplant operation in November 1982.  He was the 31st heart recipient at the Health Science Center Hospital.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Grable, of Phoenix, Arizona; three daughters, Michelle Grable of Spearfish, South Dakota, Stephane Grable, of Spearfish, and Juanetta Grable, of Memphis, Tennessee; one son, Dirk Grable of Memphis; his mother, Vera Grable, of Phoenix; one brother, Rodney Grable of Zalinda, California; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father.
