Cierra M. Lindquist

of Chester, South Dakota, died on Thursday, November 28, 2024
Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 39

Cierra M. Lindquist, age 39 of Chester, SD passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024.

Cierra Marie Lindquist was born in Rapid City, SD, on May 28, 1985, and joined the angels on November 28, 2024. She attended Kadoka High School where she was active in basketball, gymnastics, track, choir, student council, and FBLA. She graduated in May 2004 and moved to Sioux Falls to begin her “adulting” journey.

That same summer Cierra started a job at Citibank, which blossomed into a nearly 20-year career where she built countless relationships and earned the title of VP, Sr. IT Analyst/Test manager. Cierra was married in July 2008, and from this union was blessed with the three most precious gifts in her life: Dawson, Leonardo (Leo), and Aidan. Cierra believed that God placed her on this Earth to be a mother. Her children were the light of her life and everything revolved around loving, protecting, and raising them to be good humans.

Cierra worked hard to provide for her family. In addition to her full-time job at Citibank, she juggled the responsibilities of owning and managing two successful businesses (Green4Ever and Freedom Promotions (formerly Fully Promoted)). Cierra had a passion for women in business and was nominated for the SME Women of Excellence and Leadership Award in 2023. She also had a huge heart and was active in several community causes including youth activities, suicide awareness and prevention, and human trafficking.
Cierra was an extraordinarily gifted woman, and it wouldn’t be strange to see her with a baby in one arm and a power tool in the other. She embraced ‘all the things’ (some more successfully than others), had a love for learning, and was not afraid to get her hands dirty. She taught herself interior design, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, livestock care, farm maintenance, and gardening (although many plants preceded her in death).

Cierra found solace from her busy life at her farm in Chester, where she enjoyed swinging in her basket chair with a cup of coffee, sitting around a fire, or watching movies and eating burnt popcorn in her outdoor theatre (which of course, she built herself). She found peace in her ability to share her burdens with the Lord surrounded by nature.

When Cierra was feeling broken, she posted an online application looking for a good man. Joe applied, and he got accepted, not only by her, but by the rest of the family. The family cannot thank Joe enough for filling a void in Cierra’s life and giving Cierra and her boys his love, support, and true companionship.

Cierra embraced the chaos of life, being perpetually tardy to engagements, and the title of “the crazy sista.” She loved to sing and dance and was often the life of the party. She was never afraid to host a spontaneous get together and feed whoever showed up with a delicious meal she somehow concocted out of random ingredients in her house. Cierra had so much love in her heart, gave of herself unselfishly, and advocated and defended others with a vengeance. She loved babies, never passed up an opportunity to give “lovies”, and was the first to provide a warm embrace to whoever may need it. Cierra’s passing will leave a great hole in our hearts, but we are all blessed to have been a part of her life and have gained her as a guardian angel.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children: Dawson, Leonardo, and Aidan Haffner of Chester, SD; mother, Kippy Udehn of Huron, SD; stepfather, Bill Murphy of Highmore, SD; sisters: Tara (Jason) Johanneson of Tea, SD, and Skye (Andrew) Bork of Sioux Falls, SD; brother: Zane Lindquist stationed at Fort Cavazos, TX; partner: Joe Pulliam and his children: Bennett and Brooklynn of Sioux Falls, SD; niece and Goddaughter: Taylor Johanneson of Indianapolis, IN; nephews: Jaxon and Jadon Johanneson of Tea, SD, and Paxtyn and Rylan (Godson) Bork of Sioux Falls, SD; Godmother: Debbie Howell; as well as, a host of aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends.

Cierra is preceded in death by her father: Myron Lindquist; maternal grandparents: Carlysle and Catharine Udehn and paternal grandparents: Arthur and Bertha Lindquist; uncles: Randy Dreiske, Chuck Engle, Gary Kirkpatrick, Duane Lindquist, Gary Kirkpatrick, Marvin Bail, and Gary Kirkpatrick; aunt: Beverly Bail; and cousins: Sherrie Bierman and Kai Roy Weltz, and, of course, her first furbaby: Pugsley.

P.S. (To quote Cierra): “Listen Linda, don’t you dare make my funeral sad or I’m gunna come down there and smack all of you.”

Her family will be present for visitation on Friday, December 13, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 PM with a prayer service and memory sharing beginning at 7:00 PM, at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory in Sioux Falls.

Her Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Tea, SD. To honor Cierra best, we ask that you wear bright colors and no black to her services.
